Natalie Portman says she fulfilled a longstanding ambition by shaving her head for the sci-fi thriller ``V for Vendetta.'' ``I was really excited to get to shave my head -- it's something I'd wanted to do for a while and now I had a good excuse,'' Portman told reporters at the Berlin International Film Festival. ``It was nice to shed that level of vanity for a girl.'' However, ``I wasn't used to being looked at so much,'' the 24-year-old actress said. ``Walking down the street, I can usually blend in, and people really stare at you when you're a girl with a shaved head.'' Directed by James McTeigue and written by Andy and Larry Wachowski, ``V for Vendetta'' is set in a future Britain run by a fascist dictatorship. Portman's character is saved from an attack by a masked anarchist known only as V, played by Hugo Weaving, and becomes a comrade in his struggle against the regime. Weaving faced the challenge of playing V from behind a mask. ``When you don't see an actor's face, it forces you to listen to what he has to say,'' Weaving said. ``What was important to me was that the ideas came through.''

BRITNEY SPHEARS
In a bid to stack more moolah in Britney Spears’ bank accounts, her father, Jamie Spears now wants his pop star daughter to promote a furniture line.
After getting a role for the 26-year-old on ’How I Met Your Mother’, Jamie is now in talks with Danish celebrity broker Claus Hjelmbak, to launch his brand in United States, which will be promoted by Britney.
Senior Spears is in talks with Hjelmbak to "bring Danish accent pieces to the United States . . . Britney will be the face of the brand," the New York Post quoted a source, as saying.
The source also revealed that it’s been two months since Hjelmbak and Jamie Spears have been working out the deal and Hjelmbak even met Britney at the Scandinavian Style Mansion in December 2007

Strictly Come Dancing star Kelly Brook says she attributes her curvy figure to "having tons of sex".
The model and actress also gives her top tips for keeping the passion in a relationship alive - fighting and fantastic lighting.
"Fight a lot. Even if you do agree, pretend you don't," says Brook, who is engaged to actor Billy Zane.
"I'm a brat for the sake of causing trouble - but tongue-in-cheek and with a twinkle in my eye.
"It's about mentally stimulating each other as much as it is about the physical and emotional side."
Asked for her hot tip on maintaining a good sex life, she replied: "Fantastic lighting! When you redecorate, make sure everything's on dimmers. Either that or candlelight."
Brook was on sparkling form in a photoshoot to accompany the revealing interview in Company magazine, showing off the legs which have mesmerised Strictly Come Dancing viewers.
The former Big Breakfast keeps her figure trim by "having tons of sex so you look fit and healthy - it's the best thing in the world".
But she said her looks didn't help her to find work.
"I have to audition for things. They don't just hand it to me because I look hot.
"I wouldn't keep working if it was just about looks. I'm 27 and there are tons of hotter girls who are 10 years younger than me."
Brook also laid into footballers' wives who marry soccer stars for the moneyed lifestyle.
"I'm not saying all girls who shack up with footballers do.
"But I would hate to be a girl thinking, 'What am I going to do when I leave school?', and all I was reading about was these girls marrying footballers, getting magazine deals and launching perfumes.
"I've done it all on my own."
Brook expressed her disapproval for female celebrities who stumbled out of clubs looking the worse for wear.
"Whenever I come out of a restaurant and there's a photographer, I just smile.
"Hopefully I come across as being myself. I'd never fall out of a nightclub drunk.
"No night out's worth that - a photo that's there for a lifetime of you with your knickers round your head," she said.
